Australians Turned up to Vote in their Underwear

Australians have elected a new government on Saturday after millions of residents flocked to polling booths to have their say and enjoy a democracy sausage.  While postal votes and pre poll proved more popular than ever this year, significant numbers still cast their vote in person on election day.  From schools to churches and community centres, voters lined up to make their choice for who they wanted to represent them in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Pictures from polling booths showed some voters casting their ballots in swimwear while others had surfboards in hand.
