Qaboos is among Sayyid Al-Seyyed, who is known as Sultan Qaboos, the king of Oman, who came to power in 1970 after the resignation of his father. As the 14th descendant of the Al Bu Sa’id dynasty, his rule in Oman is entirely a kingdom but allows parliamentary elections and is in some way a kingdom of governance with more modern and democratic thinking than other kingdoms.
