Actresses must obtain experience to gain recognition and improve their acting abilities. Many actresses participate in community theater productions, while others work in dinner theaters or theme parks to gain professional experience. Acting is a highly competitive field and requires that actresses compete for roles through an audition process. Auditions are usually held with the casting director, director and/or producer.
