Azadi Stadium was built with international standards and was created for the Asian Games of 1974 with an area of 141,000 square meters in the Liberty Sports Complex. The design and construction of this stadium was initiated by Abdolaziz Faranumfarmajian and it was opened on October 26, 1350 and was officially reopened on September 10, 1353 and simultaneously with the Asian Games of 1974 (AD).
