Farahani was first revealed to the world in 2008, appearing in Ridley Scott’s film Body of Lies, alongside actor Leonardo DiCaprio. She was the first actor to appear in an American production, while still living and resulted in Farahani choosing to live a “courageous life of exile” from the country.
