A model is a person with a role either to promote, display or advertise commercial products (notably fashion clothing in fashion shows), or to serve as a visual aid for people who are creating works of art or to pose for photography.
The pressure to maintain a certain physical appearance is also a considerable challenge. Models are often expected to adhere to specific measurements or aesthetic ideals, which can lead to unhealthy habits, disordered eating, or mental health struggles. Even as the industry slowly embraces more diversity in body types, many individuals still feel the strain of constant scrutiny and comparison.
