SkyUp Airlines airplain Hostesses uniforms

The change comes amid changing attitudes to female airline staff, with a slew of airlines ditching restrictive elements of their uniform in recent years. In 2019 Virgin Atlantic announced that its female cabin crew would no longer have to wear makeup in order to allow cabin crew ‘more choice on how to express themselves at work’. Olga Tsaregradskaya, curator of the project, added that the airline worked with Ukrainian fashion designers to build the uniforms – notably the GUDU brand to develop the orange suits and the GUNIA PROJECT to create the silk scarf.

Flight attendants at SkyUp Airlines are saying goodbye to skirt-and-heel uniforms. The Ukrainian airline is launching a new look this fall – with an emphasis on utility and comfort. For female flight attendants, the new uniform will include white Nike sneakers, a loose orange suit and a blue silk scarf. Reuters reported that male flight attendants will also see a uniform change. Instead of vests and dress shoes, they will wear black Nikes, a light suit and a T-shirt. USA TODAY confirmed with SkyUp that the airline’s launch for the new uniforms will be Oct. 22.
