Princess Ameerah Al Taweel was born November 6th 1983 into a middle-class family. At a young age she dreamed of becoming a heart surgeon but instead, she took on the title of Princess when at 18 she married Saudi billionaire Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal. She used her new-found status and visibility to advocate for issues of women’s civil rights and empowerment in Saudi. Wishing to be among the first women on Saudi roads, she has often called for women’s right to drive.
