Her profession (before and during her marriage to Mohammad-Reza Shajarian) was that of a teacher. She married the famous master musician Mohammad-Reza Shajarian around 1961-62. With Shajarian, she had four children: one son, Homayoun Shajarian (who is also a well-known musician), and three daughters: Farzaneh, Afsaneh, and Mojgan. Farkhondeh Golafshan came from Mashhad and pursued teaching as her profession. Her early life was relatively private, and she was outside of the music and public-performance sphere, keeping a lower profile compared to her husband.
Her work as a teacher reflects a life grounded in education, nurturing, and local community. Around the early 1960s, Farkhondeh married Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, who was then a young musician on the rise. Their union resulted in a family of four children. Their son, Homayoun Shajarian, followed in the footsteps of his father and became a significant figure in traditional music. The daughters also contributed to the family’s artistic and personal legacy.
