Forty-eighth Armenian Olympic Games began on Tuesday at a special ceremony attended by the Special Assistant to the President for Relatives at the Ararat Stadium. 800 athletes from the homeland, Armenia and Georgia will compete in nine disciplines. At the opening ceremony, Kiomars Hashemi, chairman of the National Olympic Committee was an attendee. Despite today’s huge success, the organizers went through hard times to make the Games reality.
