However, she and Prince Philip later hosted a wedding reception for the newlyweds at Windsor Castle and took part in a religious blessing at St George’s Chapel, a clear sign that they approved of the pair’s nuptials. More recently, the Queen showed her approval of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall’s union by announcing she hopes the public will accept her son’s wife as Queen Consort when he takes the throne.
