Kasraei’s early career showed immense promise, with her performance in Panjereh heralding a new kind of star—one who could bridge the divide between art and entertainment. Her talent and charisma captivated audiences, and her association with some of the best directors of her time hinted at a future filled with artistic collaborations. However, her career path veered from the predictable trajectory of mainstream fame. Out of the 18 films she starred in, only seven were commercial projects. The majority of her work was with directors from the new wave of Iranian cinema or those experimenting with the boundaries between modern and commercial filmmaking.
