In the years following the revolution, the removal of these statues extended beyond the streets and public squares. Many monuments and memorials related to the Pahlavi era were erased or replaced with new monuments that reflected the values of the Republic. Even institutions and buildings named after the Shah were renamed to emphasize the revolution’s core ideals.
