Ali Parvin is a former football player and coach who is widely recognized as one of the most important figures in the history of football. Born on October 12, 1946, in Tehran, Parvin played mainly as an attacking midfielder and right winger. Parvin began his football career in Tehran and later played for Kian and Paykan before joining Persepolis FC in 1970. He spent 18 years with Persepolis, from 1970 to 1988, and became closely associated with the club. During his Persepolis career, he made 341 league appearances and scored 153 goals according to recorded club statistics.
At international level, Parvin represented the national team from 1970 to 1980. He was part of the teams that won the AFC Asian Cup in 1972 and 1976. He also represented at the 1972 Munich Olympics and the 1976 Montreal Olympics, and played at the 1978 FIFA World Cup in Argentina. His international career ended with 76 appearances and 11 goals in the commonly cited records. After retiring as a player, Parvin continued his involvement in football as a coach and manager. He managed Persepolis on several occasions and also coached the national team.
