A Street Poet of Hip-Hop Scene

He emerged in the rap scene around 2015, when he began gaining traction with soil-rocking singles like “Divoonas”, “Hayhat”, and “Bakhshesh”. His signature sound blends modern hip-hop with traditional Persian musical elements, creating a culturally rich and innovative aesthetic. Lyrically, his work explores love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and social issues—especially those affecting Iranian youth. In July 2017, Sefat was involved in a fatal altercation with his stepfather, in what was reported as an attempt to defend his mother. He admitted to the act, and initially faced murder charges.

The case sparked widespread public debate and support among fans and well-known  figures, with hashtags like HamidSefat and FreeHamid Sefat circulating in solidarity. In 2021, Iran’s Supreme Court overturned the original murder conviction, downgrading it to manslaughter. This verdict elimination of premeditated murder charges led to his bail release. He has amassed a significant fanbase, with his Instagram following ranging from 2.5 million to over 4 million followers across sources.
