He also served as president of the National Olympic Committee and was a member of the International Olympic Committee. He was also a member of the Royal Council which governed the nation while his half-brother was on international visits. During his half-brother’s reign, he owned lands in Iran and was the holder of large shares in six firms. He left before the 1979 revolution that ousted his half-brother and settled in Paris, France. After the death of his half-sister Ashraf Pahlavi in 2016, he became the only living child of Shah Reza Pahlavi.
