Sadeq Saba is born journalist and analyst who has spent over two decades working with BBC Persian. He was born in Rasht, and began his studies in law and political science at the University of Tehran before pursuing a PhD at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In 1990, Saba joined the BBC, starting as a producer in the Persian Service. Prior to joining BBC Persian television, he worked for over a decade as an analyst covering Iranian affairs, providing reports and insights for an international audience.
During his career, Saba covered several presidential elections and traveled extensively. He also produced and hosted special programs, including the documentary series “A Taste,” which introduced the culture, history, and cuisine of different regions to a global audience. Later, Saba rose to the managerial position of BBC Persian, leading the department during politically sensitive periods, including the aftermath of the 2009 presidential election, when the Persian television service played a key role in covering events inside the country.
