Children’s Rights and a Better Future

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is a global organization dedicated to promoting the rights and well-being of children. Established in 1946 in the aftermath of World War II, UNICEF initially focused on providing emergency food and healthcare to children in countries devastated by war. Over time, its mission expanded to address the long-term needs of children everywhere, regardless of their circumstances.

Today, UNICEF operates in more than 190 countries and territories, working to ensure that every child has access to basic necessities such as clean water, nutrition, education, and healthcare. The organization places special emphasis on reaching the most vulnerable children, including those affected by poverty, conflict, natural disasters, and discrimination.
