Dariush a Journey Through His Personal Life

Throughout his career, Dariush has worked with some of most respected lyricists and composers, including Iraj Jannati Ataei, Shahriar Ghanbari, Ardalan Sarafraz, Farid Zoland, Ahmad Pejman, and Varoujan. His repertoire has also drawn inspiration from major Persian poets such as Rumi and Hafez. Love, loneliness, exile, freedom, justice, and the difficulties faced by ordinary people are recurring themes in his music. His official biography describes his artistic work as closely connected to social awareness and humanitarian concerns.

Dariush’s music became increasingly associated with social and political expression. Before the 1979 Revolution, some of his songs addressed political and social issues, and his beliefs contributed to periods of imprisonment and persecution. After leaving in 1981, he continued his artistic career abroad, becoming an important figure in theĀ  diaspora and reaching audiences around the world.
