By the late 20th century, Adidas and Puma were no longer just rivals from Herzogenaurach they were global competitors shaping the face of sport and fashion. Adidas expanded aggressively, sponsoring world-class athletes and entire national teams. It became synonymous with football (soccer) dominance, but also broke into streetwear and music culture embraced by hip-hop icons like Run-D.M.C., whose track “My Adidas” helped merge sportswear with mainstream pop culture.
