His wife remembers general Rahimi as a loving husband, and hard working and loyal officer. “There was something of a Sufi dervish in his character. … His staff adored him … He enjoyed films but had little time to read. He was a very honest man with a good sense of humour, a friendly nature and a good voice too…”
General Rahimi was arrested on February 12th, 1979. Based on the communiqué, the defendant was arrested by “Islamic armed forces.” The newspaper Etela’at (Februray 12, 1979, p.3), interviewed the general about his arrest. General Mehdi Rahimi : “I was walking in Sepah circle, several individuals assaulted me and arrested me and brought me here. They also ill treated me a bit and beat me, but it doesn’t matter, they were young.”
