Political and society insiders told Page Six they were caught by surprise by the Instagram post that showed Abedin, 47, and Alex — who, at 38, is nine years her junior — cuddling up in a Parisian restaurant, complete with red roses on the table. People who did know about the romance said they had been asked to keep things quiet.
