Middleton has donned headscarves on a number of past occasions; she wore a light blue style to visit a mosque in Malaysia during a 2012 visit, and sported several colorful styles during her 2019 Pakistan tour. Middleton paired a plain white scarf — known as a dupatta — with her embroidered Élan tunic while in Pakistan, but debuted the matching dupatta for today’s event for a fitting full-circle moment.
