Madonna’s longtime manager Guy Oseary confirmed the singer’s hospitalization in late June through an Instagram post. “On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which [led] to a several day stay in the ICU,” Oseary wrote. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care.” “A full recovery is expected,” he added. The manager also wrote that the singer would have to “pause all commitments” including her Celebration Tour. Since the post, Live Nation has confirmed new dates for the tour.
