Fatemeh Motamed Arya is one of the most significant actresses of post-revolutionary cinema and has starred in more than forty feature films. She has been nominated nine times for the Best Actress award at the Fajr International Film Festival and has won the festival’s top prize, the Crystal Simorgh, four times. In 2011, she won Best Actress at the Montreal World Film Festival for her role in Here Without Me and in 2012 she was awarded France’s prestigious Prix Henri Langlois. She has worked with APSA Academy member Rakhshan Banietemad on The Blue Veiled (1995) and the 2014 APSA Grand Jury Prize winning Tales. She also starred in Mohsen Makhmalbaf’s Once Upon a Time, Cinema (1992).
