Mandaeism or Mandaeanism ; is a gnostic religion with a strongly dualistic worldview. Its adherents, the Mandaeans, revere Adam, Abel, Seth, Enos, Noah, Shem, Aram, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and especially John the Baptist. The Aramaic manda means “knowledge,” as does Greek gnosis.
