What may seem like a professional lull is actually a period of hard work with auditions, classes, and other activities to help improve an Actor’s chances of booking a gig. An audition consists of reading sides for a scene and performing for a Casting Director and/or Casting Associate. In some cases, a Producer and/or the Director may also be present for the audition. Especially in the post-Covid era, though, creating self-tapes has become a popular and convenient alternative to in-person auditions.
