old singer and her sisters

Renowned singer Ramesh passed away in Los Angeles, California on November 30, 2020. She was one of the most popular singers in the 1960s and 70s. Renowned singer Ramesh was born in 1946. Her birth name was Azar Mohebbi Tehrani. She began her singing career in 1964 in a radio classical music program. Her song by the name of “River” inspired by the famous “Little Black Fish” story, is one of her great legacies. Ramesh sang two songs in 1979 and 1980. But after restrictions imposed on female singers by the clerical regime, she had to leave the country. She held a concert in Europe, and subsequently, she gave up singing in protest to the clerical regime’s ban on female singers. Ramesh was one of the women who refused to sing under the rule of the clerical regime. Like the great Iranian Resistance’s singer Marjan, she thought of her homeland and presenting her art to her people.
