Richard Buckley, married partner of fashion designer Tom Ford, dies

In the following years he also worked in Perry Ellis and Marc Jacobs, though he didn’t feel satisfied as the companies were preventing him from fully expressing himself when it comes to creativity in clothing. He moved to Europe where his taste was more appreciated, and began working with Gucci, helping the brand get back on it’s feet, and became Creative Director for the company. He is credited for helping raise the company into a fashion powerhouse. This led to him working in the same capacity for Yves Saint Laurent, which was acquired by Gucci in 1999.
