Supporting women’s rights, particularly during protests, and using social media to reach people inside and the diaspora. For many, especially women, her openness about health struggles and her advocacy on issues that are sensitive in society (e.g. women’s rights, political freedoms, children’s welfare) makes her a compelling role model. Her public life is marked by both privilege (as part of the Pahlavi family) and a kind of moral responsibility or activism, especially post-exile. Though Yasmine Pahlavi does not hold an official political position, she has increasingly become a symbolic figure within the Iranian diaspora, particularly during times of national protest and unrest inside.
Yasmine has repeatedly spoken out about the need for a secular, democratic, where human rights, gender equality, and rule of law are respected. She often emphasizes that political change must come from the will of the people, not foreign intervention. During the Women, Life, Freedom movement of 2022–2023, she and her husband, Reza Pahlavi, voiced strong support for the protesters. Yasmine used her platform to highlight women’s courage, particularly those risking their lives for freedom. She described Iranian women as “the heartbeat of resistance” and urged unity among the diaspora to amplify their voices globally.
