All TV programs are screened and approved by the government. If something does not fall within the rules, it will not be broadcast. The government decides what the population watches. The same applies to the internet. Although the internet works fine in most places- many websites are not accessible. For example, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are blocked and you will not be able to visit these websites without a VPN. Also some Google tools are not accessible. Gmail and Maps do work. They also watch the same -American- series and surf the web on their smartphones.
