Tech CEO With $35 Million California

Trump used the International Emergency Economic Powers Act that Ghomi is accused of violating as justification for his sweeping tariffs impacting nearly every country, though the Supreme Court struck down the tariffs earlier this year and ruled earlier this year the law does not give Trump the power to enact them.

Authorities claim Ghomi — founder, owner and CEO of Faraz Pardaz Rayaneh Co. Ltd. — used his computer networking company to obtain American networking equipment for Iranian customers. Prosecutors say Ghomi never got a license from the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control to authorize those transactions in violation of U.S. sanctions.
