The Beloved Voice of Music

Following the Revolution of 1979, Mahasti, like many other artists, was forced to leave her homeland. She settled in the United States, continuing her musical career and connecting with the diaspora. Her performances abroad brought a sense of nostalgia and unity to expatriates longing for their homeland. Mahasti was known not only for her music but also for her kind and generous spirit. She actively participated in charity concerts and supported various causes, including cancer research and refugee assistance. Despite her public success, Mahasti faced personal struggles, including health issues. She was diagnosed with colon cancer in the early 2000s, which she battled with immense courage and grace.
