Fresh from hiring Lionel Messi, Inter Miami’s triumphant co-owner David swerved off the crisp onfield team blazers he sports at DRV PNK stadium and opted for a breezy white-sox-with-“business”-sandals footwear joust. Seasonally questionable, but perhaps it was a warm day, or maybe he was just missing the beach in Miami. On the bright side, the counterintuitive footwear move, especially in a mansion formerly belonging to Lagerfeld, does bring a bracing intellectual whiff of Einstein-in-retirement-in-New Jersey.
