What does Baker do

Bakers follow and create recipes that they follow to mix and bake ingredients in order to create a variety of baked goods, such as breads, pastries and other flour-based items. Bakers can either sell these products directly through their own business or they can work for retailers such as restaurants and food service companies. Depending on their workplace, bakers can also be responsible for ordering ingredients. Baker responsibilities include opening the bakery early in the morning, mixing dough, preparing fillings and glazing pastries. To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a Baker and be able to decorate cakes using creative techniques.

Bakers bake and sell fresh baked goods throughout the day and night, sometimes on weekends. They bake pastries and pies and take personalized requests from customers. Bakers schedule themselves to work shifts during early mornings or late evenings, which means they may have less time off than other employees. To become a baker, it is generally necessary to complete some form of culinary education or training, such as a baking and pastry arts program. Additionally, bakers must have a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure that their products are safe for consumption.
