His achievements at USC allowed him to obtain an appointment to the combined general surgery and plastic surgery training program at the University of California San Francisco, one of the most sought after positions in the country. At UCSF, Dr. Elyassnia received a broad education in plastic and reconstructive surgery and learned directly from many leaders in the field. To further develop his interest in cosmetic surgery, he pursued subspecialty training with the best plastic surgeons in Manhattan. There he completed an Aesthetic Fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, home to arguably the busiest fellowship clinic in the country. This is one of only a handful of highly competitive cosmetic surgery fellowships in the United States.
