The 67-year-old, who also has United States residency and was in 2020, was convicted of “corruption on Earth” for heading a pro-monarchist group accused of a deadly 2008 bombing and planning other attacks across the country, Mizan, the official news agency of the judiciary, reported on Tuesday. The Los Angeles-based group runs radio and television stations abroad that support opposition groups.
