Patrick married Sonja Lauman, a Dutch woman who converted to Islam, in 1972. Together they had three sons: Prince Davoud, Prince Houd, and Prince Mohammad Younes. Despite their royal titles, they have lived relatively private lives, and like their father, have not sought political prominence.
