Studies have found that flushing the toilet can spew bathroom-related bacteria into the air . (Ick!) Needless to say, it’s a good idea to store that toothbrush far away from the potential contaminants (and close that lid before flushing!). What to do: The ADA suggests making sure to rinse toothbrushes thoroughly after use, allow them to dry completely, and replace every three to four months.
