Ms Wongvajirapakdi is the first woman in almost a century to hold the title of consort, according to AFP. A statement from the palace said the King had “ordered the creation of a royal biography” for his partner, a trained pilot, nurse and bodyguard. Until 2017 she too held the position of royal consort.The Queen married King Maha Vajiralongkorn in a royal wedding ceremony two years ago, though she reportedly spends most of her time in Switzerland without her husband.
