In 2013, a 19-year-old boy was forced to drink 0.9 liters (one kilogram) of soy sauce to prove his dare. He went to a coma and was almost dead due to the high level of salt in his body. Hypernatremia (Hypernatremia) is a disease in which blood sugars are excessive. When the bloodstream is saturated with salt, water drains other parts of the body, including the brain, to reduce the salt concentration. When the water of the brain is lost it shrinks and bleeds.
