He broke through with the drama Queysar in 1969, directed by Masoud Kimiai, in which he played the lead. He received his first acting award for this performance at the Sepas Film Festival and his career was launched. Several other popular films followed, including a four-film collaboration with Kimiai in the next decade with Dash Akol (1971), Baluch (1972), The Deers, and Gavaznha (1974).
