Bijan Kian, also known as Bijan Rafiekian, is an American businessman and public policy figure known for his work in banking, international business, and U.S. government service. Born on January 15, 1952, in Tehran, Kian later moved to the United States and built a career that combined private-sector leadership with public service. Kian earned a bachelor’s degree from Tehran Industrial College and later pursued postgraduate studies in management at the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom.
His educational background helped shape his career in finance, international trade, and economic development. Throughout his professional life, Kian held executive and advisory roles in several business and financial organizations. He served as Director of the California Office of Foreign Investment and participated in initiatives focused on attracting foreign investment and supporting economic growth.
