Gholamhossein Naghshineh, the renowned actor best known for portraying “Dear Uncle” (Daei Jan) in the television series My Uncle Napoleon, was born in Tehran in 1908. He graduated from the first class of the Tehran School of Dramatic Arts in 1939 and began his artistic career in 1920 by performing in productions of the Comedy Group at the Grand Hotel Theater. He later continued his stage work with the Dehghan Theater and subsequently the Tehran Theater.
