A strong supporter of women’s rights, Ashraf promoted gender equality and social reforms. She played a pivotal role in advancing women’s participation in education, politics, and the workforce. As the head of the Women’s Organization, she worked on progressive policies, including the Family Protection Law, which granted women more rights in marriage and divorce. Following the 1979 Revolution, Ashraf went into exile along with the rest of the Pahlavi family.
