Fereydoun had several brothers and sisters, and some of them were also prominent in their respective fields. His most famous sibling, however, is his sister, Forough Farrokhzad, one of the most celebrated Persian poets and filmmakers of the 20th century. Forough’s work, especially her poetry, is regarded as revolutionary, and she was one of the most progressive voices in literature, challenging traditional gender norms and societal expectations in ways similar to Fereydoun’s own defiance of cultural norms. Her death in 1967 was tragic and marked by mystery, and it deeply affected Fereydoun, who shared a close relationship with her.
