A Legacy in Resonance

Throughout his life, Meshkatian was not just a performer but also a composer, researcher, and educator. He co-founded the Aref Ensemble in the 1980s, which became one of the most influential music groups, bridging the gap between classical roots and contemporary sensibilities. His compositions—steeped in spirituality, melancholic beauty, and deep cultural memory—often drew from Persian poetry, particularly the works of Rumi, Hafez, and Attar. In doing so, he brought forth a musical language that spoke to both the soul and intellect of its listeners.
