In her cross complaint, she refers to Pahlavi by his apparent birth name, Kamran Abbas-Vahid. He was involved in a dispute with Sara King, a California attorney, who is accused of embezzlement and fraud. Among the allegations, she claims that Pahlavi encouraged risky gambling behaviors and mismanaged funds.
Pahlavi, for his part, denies many of King’s claims, saying she was addicted to gambling, that she misused business funds, etc.; he also insists on having documentation in his defense. In interviews, he has characterized their relationship as having been serious, and expresses feeling betrayed. He has been referred to or self-described using the name Kamran Abbas-Vahid in some court documents.
