Fereshteh Dibaiyan, professionally known as Fereshteh, (born in 1950 in Tehran) is an singer specializing in traditional Persian music and traditional pop. She currently resides in Munich, Germany. During her teenage years, Fereshteh lived in Abadan before returning to Tehran to pursue advanced musical training. She studied at the National Conservatory of Music, where she trained under the renowned vocalist Mahmoud Karimi.
Later, with the encouragement and support of celebrated composer Ali Tajvidi, she joined the National Radio and Television (NIRT). Fereshteh has stated that her mother and grandmother were her earliest sources of encouragement in music, noting that her grandmother was also a skilled tar player.
