Her first and most famous song, “Nam Nam Baran-e Emshab” (“Tonight’s Gentle Rain”), was broadcast in 1971 on the radio program “Shoma va Radio” (“You and the Radio”). The song quickly became a nationwide hit and brought her widespread recognition. Its lyrics were written by Bijan Taraqqi, while the musical arrangement was created by Mostafa Kasravi. “Nam Nam Baran-e Emshab” was later selected as the Song of the Year for 1971.
Among Fereshteh’s other well-known recordings are “Hadith-e Eshgh” (“The Tale of Love”) and “Ay Adamaye Ashegh” (“O Lovers”), both composed by Jahanbakhsh Pazouki, and they remain some of her most celebrated works. Fereshteh established herself as one of the promising female voices in music during the 1970s. Combining elements of traditional Persian vocal techniques with the accessibility of Persian pop, she developed a style that appealed to a broad audience.
